Where the data comes from
The numbers are loaded straight from NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center (services.swpc.noaa.gov) each time you open the page. NOAA's forecasts are good guides but space weather is hard to predict, especially more than a day ahead. The latitude column is approximate and uses geomagnetic latitude, which differs from the latitude on a map: in North America the geomagnetic latitude is several degrees higher than the map latitude, so aurora reaches farther south there than in Europe at the same Kp.
